This is our Annunciation Badge/Patch. It has been designed with vestment making in mind but it would also make a lovely addition to a backpack! This would make a very striking central piece to a vestment Orphrey. The image contains an embroidery of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Angel Gabriel. This is surrounded with a decorative border to frame the image.
The Annunciation (from Latin annuntiatio), also referred to as the Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Annunciation of Our Lady, or the Annunciation of the Lord, is the announcement by the archangel Gabriel to Mary that she would conceive and bear a son through a virgin birth and become the mother of Jesus Christ, the Christian Messiah and Son of God, marking the Incarnation. Gabriel told Mary to name her son Immanuel, meaning "God is with us".
The embroidery is very detailed and has taken many hours to produce, hence the price.
The badge does have an iron on backing (it is optional to iron it on), for application I would recommend pressing firmly (with a cloth over the badge to secure and then to follow with some stitching.
